The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fulfilling his campaign promise with the Supreme Court ruling granting financial autonomy to local governments. The ruling mandates direct funding from the federal government to the 774 local councils, removing state government control.
In an interview with News men in Awka, Gidado Siddiki, MACBAN’s National Deputy Director-General, welcomed the decision, highlighting its potential to reduce rural-urban migration and create jobs.
He called on local government leaders to ensure fairness and justice in their governance.
