Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has directed that henceforth, all Religious Worship centers must be restricted to a maximum period of 2 hours.
This followed the second wave of the Corona Virus pandemic in the country.
Briefing journalists at the Government House, Abakaliki, the Governor directed that apart from the restriction of religious worship, all large gatherings are also banned in the state.
He directed the State Deputy Governor, Barrister Kelechi Igwe and the State Covid 19 team to ensure massive sensitization and public enlightenment campaign to make the people to appreciate the need to observe COVID-19 protocols to prevent the spread of the disease in the second wave of the pandemic.
Governor Umahi appealed to Ebonyi residents to curtail their movements this Christmas period, pointing out that the initial night of praise and the usual end of year party would not hold in the State this year.
