Clubs gets through to the final stage of 2021 Anambra ‘Super 8’ football tournament after Match Day 3 massive cracker at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha.
Match day3 of the Super8 tournament ended with 4 teams qualifying, Mekon FC, Pope Johnpaul FC, GP World FA, and Konti FC.

The Qualified teams after the Match Day3, includes Pope John Paul football club of Okpuno with 5points, Konti FC of Umunnachi with 4points in group ‘A’. While Mekon FC of Umunze with 7points, GP World FA with 4points in group B.

Engr Victor Aniakwena the Vice-Chairman Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) and Acting Chairman the Association, said that my Anambra football is design to take the youths to their destination and place them where they should be, and attracted by International Clubs and attract by National team, and thanked the State Government and the sports Commission for realizing the facilities for this wonderful tournament and to Aspire FC, he used the opportunity to tell the private sectors, individuals to join hands promote the brand” my Anambra football initiative.
The competition organized by ‘My Anambra Football’ and bankrolled by Aspire FC Adazi Ani, is the first of its kind in the state, geared towards developing and promoting grassroot soccer through investments in physical infrastructure, technical training, promotion as well as creating access to global market.
Speaking to Sports Writers, Chairman of the organizing committee and a member of the board, Prince Oliver Ndigwe congratulated all the qualified teams for a job well done and for making good use of the opportunity provided for them by the organisers of the competition.

The teams really showed high level of maturity and we would want them to maintain the discipline that brought them this far, as they enter the knockout stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, the Team manager of Pope Johnpaul FC, Kingsley Onunkwo said that the game was another victory for them, having secured five points and that they are looking forward to have a complete squad in the semifinals on Friday.
further said they are happy to have gotten to this stage. It is not an easy one but very optimistic and sure of victory in their next game, no matter the team, they are sure that that first team squad will be complete, sound and ready for the next encounter,
The Coach of Mekon FC, Echezona Ike Commended his boys on performance and for ensuring the semi final stage of the competition,
He further said his happy that the players adhered to his instructions and it paid off. It was not an easy game at all, every last group game is usually dicey and any mistake can either be a blessing or bad luck. and were prepared to win this game and got the desired result, He thank the organisers, for initiative and great opportunity for them but will would want them to improve on the officiating. It is the knock out stage and we expect them to give their best at the moment,
This Super 8 Tournament is organised by “My Anambra Football, Organization is part of it’s “Next 10” year plan to reawaken football in Anambra State.
My Anambra Football is a public sector and private sector platform geared towards developing and promoting Anambra State Football through investments in physical infrastructure, technical training, promotion and access to global markets.
Remember Aspire FC Adazi-Ani, New Age Mobile Concepts Ltd, Sims Nigeria Limited, GUO Transport Company, Neros Pharmaceuticals, Spine Communications and Anambra State Football Association are the current entities promoting it for now.
The semi final with will be on Friday 2nd April 2021 and the finals on Saturday 3rd April 2021 at Nero’s stadium Nanka.
