The Nigeria Customs Service has handed over ₦20.5 billion worth of fake drugs and tomato paste to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) at Onne Port, Rivers State.
The seizure included 11 containers of banned pharmaceutical products and four containers of unwholesome tomato paste.
The items were received by NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, who praised Customs for their role in protecting public health.
In a statement, Adeyeye urged Nigerians to report any suspicious drugs or products.
She stressed that safeguarding Nigeria’s health requires collective effort.
The move signals growing synergy between agencies in the fight against substandard imports that endanger lives.
