The Peoples of Namkpu Village in Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area of Anambra State, have continued to express dissatisfaction with the way and manner electricity supply is being managed in the village.
This came as a reaction when the men of EEDC Engineers and Technicians disconnected Ojiagu 1 and 2 transformers subjecting the entire village to darkness.
According to a native of the village who does not want his name mentioned, EEDC deserves commendation with the way and manner power is supplied recently to Namkpu village since the commencement of estimated billing but expressed worry why the village should be disconnected from the community grid an appreciable number of people from the village pays their bill.
He urged the Leadership of Namkpu Village to intervene by taking the men of EEDC around the village to disconnect those not paying their bills as and when due, other than outright disconnecting the whole village as that will serve as a deterrent for anyone not paying his or her monthly bills.
While commending the EEDC for their rapid commitment towards removing hitches in the electricity supply, he, however, urged them to expedite action that will hasten the installation of prepaid meters across homes as earlier promised, as that is the only method that will remove complaints from electricity users.
