A Vietnam-bound businessman, Ibeanusi Nosike, was arrested at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport for drug trafficking. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) detained Nosike after he excreted 68 wraps of cocaine, weighing 1.282 kilograms, over a 12-day observation period.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that the 36-year-old businessman, who was traveling from Lagos to Abuja to catch a flight to Vietnam, had been under surveillance since his arrival from Anambra State on August 7th. Nosike swallowed the cocaine wraps before attempting to board his flight.
In a related incident, the NDLEA also arrested another Vietnam-bound businessman, Paul Mbadugha, at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Mbadugha excreted 88 wraps of cocaine, weighing 1.710 kilograms, after testing positive for drug ingestion.
