The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a Thailand returnee, Oguejiofor Nnaemeka Simonpeter, at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport for attempting to smuggle 13.30 kilograms of heroin valued at over N3.1 billion.
The 29-year-old was caught with the drugs concealed in six backpacks within two suitcases.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives at three seaports seized large consignments of opioids worth N22.7 billion, including 32.6 million Tramadol pills and codeine syrup. The agency continues its efforts against drug trafficking and abuse across Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of community awareness and education.
