The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has announced that Nigeria leads Africa in the number of students studying in the US. Speaking at the 23rd Annual EducationUSA College Fair in Abuja, Mills revealed that over 17,600 Nigerian students enrolled in more than 970 US institutions last year, with Texas being the most popular destination.
The ambassador emphasized the role of education in fostering economic growth and social progress. He also highlighted that last year, Nigerian students received over $30 million in financial aid and scholarships. The annual fair has been key in boosting educational opportunities for Nigerian students abroad.
