Renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has filed a $5 million lawsuit against Meta Platforms Inc., owned by Mark Zuckerberg, over alleged invasion of his privacy.
Falana claims that a false video on Facebook, titled “AfriCare Health Center,” falsely attributed statements to him, alleging he had been suffering from prostatitis for 16 years. He argues this publication violates his constitutional right to privacy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
He is seeking an order for Meta to delete the video and compensation for emotional distress, arguing that the misinformation has damaged his reputation. The case is before a Lagos High Court.
