The Nigerian Army, through the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Faruk Yahaya has warned the residents of Borno to stop collaborating with Boko Haram members.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Theatre Command, Colonel Ado Isa on Friday.
The warning follows Saturday’s gruesome massacre of 43 farmers in Zabarmari, Borno State by terror group, Boko Haram.
According to military authorities, some residents of Borno communities have been supporting Boko Haram members by providing intelligence on troops, logistics supply and also trading with the terrorists, which has been causing setbacks for the Nigerian Army in ending terrorism in the region.
In the statement, the military warned all groups or communities hobnobbing with Boko Haram/ISWAP to sever such relations or the military will take drastic action against them.
It was further emphasized that anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law for sabotaging counterterrorism and counterinsurgency efforts.
