Nigerian footballer Glory Edet has made history as the first Nigerian to win the CAF Women’s Champions League, achieving this milestone with TP Mazembe. Despite her triumph, her journey has been anything but smooth.
Edet shared how she lost her job when she became pregnant, facing financial and professional challenges. With the support of her mother, who cared for her child, Edet returned to football, regaining her fitness and pursuing her passion.
Her journey continued with Bayelsa Queens, where she won the Nigeria Women Football League before joining Mazembe. This year, she not only claimed the Champions League title but also earned a spot in the CAF Best 11.
Edet advises female footballers to plan carefully before motherhood, emphasizing its challenges.
