
In a symbolic act of protest, a group of northern youths set the Nigerian flag ablaze, citing the escalating cost of living and ongoing economic hardships under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The video, which surfaced online on X, , captured the youths expressing frustration over the dire economic situation, contrasting it with what they perceive as excessive government spending on nonessential matters.
They wrote that they voted him, President Bola Tinubu into power but lamentes the situation they are in, where eople are feeding on leaves while he lives in affluence.
Additionally, the youths highlighted the soaring prices of basic commodities, stating that “a packet of Spaghetti is now N700 and beyond the reach of the poor.”
Commenting on Nigeria’s recent loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final, the youths expressed gratitude, suggesting it serves as a wake-up call to the nation’s leadership amidst the prevailing hardships.
President Tinubu, however, in recent times have urged Nigerians to persevere through the tough times, emphasizing that his economic reforms are necessary for future prosperity.
