Archbishop Mathew Kukah of Sokoto has urged President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress to address Nigeria’s economic difficulties, highlighting widespread hunger and urging a reduction in fuel prices.
Speaking at the launch of The Progressive Institute in Abuja, Kukah criticized the government for relying on spiritualists and ritualistic practices rather than scientific decision-making.
He emphasized that real leadership should focus on solving pressing issues like fuel costs and national security.
In response, Nasarawa State APC Chairman Aliyu Bello defended Tinubu, asserting that solutions to these problems are being worked on through the APC.
Meanwhile, Progressive Governors Forum Chairman Hope Uzodimma justified the president’s fuel subsidy removal and naira floating, calling current challenges temporary and promising eventual stability.
