Nigeria’s non-oil exports surged 19.6% in the first half of 2025, reaching 3.23 billion Dollars, up from 2.7 billion Dollars a year earlier.
Export Promotion Council chief Nonye Ayeni credited the growth to strong global demand for cocoa, urea, and cashew nuts, as well as regional trade deals and government initiatives.
Cocoa led the pack, making up 35% of export value, boosted by higher prices and expanded local processing. Export volumes rose to 4.04 million metric tons, with Indorama Eleme Fertilizer, Starlink Global, and Dangote Fertilizer topping the exporters’ list.
The Netherlands, U.S., and India were the main buyers, as Nigeria pushes to diversify away from oil dependence.
