Ahead of his appearance in court on Tuesday, January 18 2022, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful.
In a statement issued by his lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor after a customary visit to Kanu in DSS custody the IPOB leader admonished his supporters to be civil in their conduct and comportment, advising those that will appear in court in demonstration of their unflinching support and loyalty to him to conduct themselves with decorum and shun violent and deviant behaviour in any manner or form.
Speaking further, Ejiofor disclosed that their discussion focused primarily on the final preparations for the legal battle set to resume at the federal high court, Abuja from next week.
He added that they were optimistic that the court outings will be impressive and Kanu himself was in high spirits.
Kanu is standing trial on charges bordering on treasonable felony levelled against him by the federal government.
