The National Population Commission, NPC, says preparations are in top gear for the conduct of the National Population and Housing Census billed for February 2023.

The NPC Federal Commissioner for Anambra State, Mr Chidi Ezeoke, disclosed this during the inauguration of the Online EU recruitment Portal for the 2023 Census, held at NPC state headquarters in Awka,

The NPC Federal Commissioner also disclosed that about 30,000 field functionaries will be employed for the exercise.

He explained that the Commission through the online recruitment process requests for applicants from the following categories of field staff, facilitators, training centre administrators, monitoring and evaluations officers, data quality managers, data quality assistants, supervisors, and enumerators, for the forthcoming census.

He maintained that the process remains key to the success of the Census, and promised that the commission is on course and will continue to be fair and transparent in its activities.

Mr Ezeoke also reminded citizens that there is no need for them to travel home during the census as there are provisions for people to fill their states and towns of origin on the Census form, and advised everyone to stay at their places of resident and be counted.

Contributing, the state Director, National Population Commission, Dr Joachim Ulasi, urged interested persons who want to participate during the exercise to register using the NPC e-recruitment portal, “http://2023censusadhocrecruitment.nationalpopulation.gov.ng”.

The NPC State Director also disclosed that the NPC e-recruitment portal which has been opened since twenty-seventh October this year, will be temporary closed on the seventh to thirteenth November, and will be permanently closed on tenth December, 2022.

Dr Ulasi explained that the least qualification for adhoc staff is the Senior Secondary School Certificate.
