The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command on Thursday 14th day of January 2021, in line with the NSCDC Amended Act 2007 empowering it to regulate , monitor and supervise the operation of Private Guard Companies, has sealed the office of GLOBE 999 Security Ltd located at No 49 Ugwunabankpa Road Onitsha and USB estate Security LTD located at No.35 Onitsha Opera Road Onitsha both in Anambra State for offenses surrounding breach of code of conduct governing the operation of Private Guard Companies and for operating without a valid license.
According to NSCDC, The affected Private Guard Companies have been given enough notice and warning through letters addressed to both companies on the need to revalidate and renew their operational licence.
NSCDC added that by these sealing,the companies concerned are expected to disengage operation and should never directly or indirectly render any security services to any individual, group or corporate body in whatsoever way.
This action which was led by the Head of Private Guard Company in the State Command; Deputy Commandant of Corps, Benedict Onye Agbala, is in accordance with the Law guiding the establishment of Private Guard Companies and according to NSCDC Amended Act 2007, it mandated the Corps to register, train, licence and monitor the activities of Private Guard Companies so as to remove quacks and ensure professionalism in the sector.
On his part, The State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State, Commandant David Bille, FCIA implores the general public to demand for licence of operation of any Private Guard Company before engaging their services.
Public is also implored to visit the department of Private Guard Company PGC ,State Headquarters Awka to confirm the validity and existence of any Private Guard Companies, PGC, they may wish to engage it’s service.
