Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has described the slow Pace and Challenges associated with the Establishment of Southeast Regional Security Outfit OGBUNIGWE as the collaborative efforts of Enemies and Detractors of Ndigbo

OYC, in a statement signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, debunked such insinuations and fears as a huge joke.

The group noted that, there is continuous attempt by Political Musketeers and Igbo External oppressors to blackmail and intimidate the South East Governors over their fearless stance on the Establishment of Southeast Regional Security Outfit OGBUNIGWE after their last Meeting.

The youths challenged the South East Governors Forum led by Governor Dave Umahi, that the only way to Unite Igbos and respect the the aspirations of Igbos, is  to accelerate moves to establish the Southeast Regional Security Outfit OGBUNIGWE to tackle the influx of Almajiris flooding Igbo Communities.

OYC, however, noted that it has volunteered 1000 Youths for the Commencement of the Regional Security Outfit OGBUNIGWE.

On the Performance of the Governors especially in The last five years, Ohaneze Youths scored Governor Umahi highest, saying he remained the best Performed Governor on Infrastructure and Projects.

The youths added that, Governor Ikpeazu had demonstrated courage to restore the indomitable spirit of Japan of Africa, by revamping the Entrepreneurial skills of Aba Artisans, and placed Aba on the World map through Promotion of Made in Aba (Nigeria) Goods.

Igbo Youths believed that the realisation of Enyimba Economic City will be a signature legacy that Igbos will definitely remember Ikpeazu as the Future.

[5/29, 00:44] Gm Radio: About 8,000 staff members of a waste management company in Anambra State have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This came as states have locked down their boundaries to stop the spread of the COVID-19.

Managing Director, Redivivus Industries Ltd., Mr Emeka Ajekwu, who disclosed this to newsmen in Awka, said the COVID-19 pandemic had adversely affected the operation of the company, as they lack access to their production materials.

It was gathered that the Redivivus Company signed an official Waste Recycling Contract of about 1.1 million dollars with Anambra State in 2019.

The firm established a network of waste scavengers to supply wastes to the moribund UNDP structure in Ogbunike to help in sustainable environmental management.

Redivivus injected life into the location by employing no fewer than 44 permanent staff members and an additional 16 contract personnel to run the plant with a recycling capacity of  320,000 kg of plastics wastes.

Mr Ajekwu said the company recorded tremendous successes with its partnership with the state government, as they had no fewer than 8,700 members of staff, naming their scope of operations to include Nnewi, Ekwulobia, Ihiala, Nise, Awka, Amansea and Nkwelle Ezunaka.

He explained that the company shut down in February to avoid exposing their frontline workers to dangers, as according to him, waste management practitioners always pick refuse from dumpsites.

The  Managing Director informed that they also pick from some bins and one would not know, who might have dropped them or what they might have been used for.

He also hinted that they shut down because most of their  products come from across the state and what they  produce is evacuated to other states, so, they are facing difficulties because of the border closure.

He pleaded with the government to intervene over the displaced staff members as some of them live below 500 naira per day, and appealed to government to extend palliative measures to their staff.

He further  urged them all to go into agriculture and key into the agric policies of Anambra State government.
