The traditional ruler of Omasi, Igwe Dr. Benjamin Okeji, has conferred chieftaincy title, “Ochili Ozuo’ on the wife of Anambra State Governor, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano.
The ceremony took place during the 9th Ofala and 21 years on the throne of the traditional ruler at his palace in Omasi.
Mrs Obiano was recognized in view of her outstanding contributions in uplifting the status of the poor, the aged, the sick and the needy through her Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE.
Other considerations were also made which include support to the governor in various areas.
In his remarks after the conferment ceremony, the royal father extolled Mrs Obiano for standing by the governor to actualize some of the achievements recorded during his administration.
Igwe Okeji commended the governor for his careful selection of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as his successor, trusting that he will deliver.
He showered his royal blessings on the people, praying that the year 2022 will usher in the best for the people of the state.
Appreciating the gesture, Mrs Obiano expressed delight at the recognition given to her which, she said, bore testimonies of her genuine commitment and passion towards reaching out to the less privileged in the society.
