Germany has approved a fresh €3 billion military aid package for Ukraine, bolstering support just days before US-brokered talks with Moscow and Kyiv on a potential truce.
The new funds will supply Ukraine with critical defense equipment, including munitions, drones, armored vehicles, and air defense systems. Germany’s parliament finalized the package after months of coalition government disagreements.
This new aid comes in addition to €4 billion already allocated in Germany’s 2025 budget and a further €8.3 billion earmarked through 2029.
Germany, already Ukraine’s second-largest military aid donor after the US, reaffirmed its commitment to Kyiv’s defense amid ongoing conflict.
Chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz and outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz both pledged continued support, emphasizing that Ukraine must remain strong even in times of peace.
