US President Donald Trump has announced that South African farmers seeking safety will be welcomed into the United States with a fast-tracked path to citizenship.

The South African government dismissed Trump’s statements, saying it would not engage in “megaphone diplomacy.” Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed willingness to discuss trade and diplomatic relations with Washington.

Trump’s announcement has sparked mixed reactions, with his supporters praising the move, while critics argue it could increase immigration concerns in the US.
