On Foreign News,
Ukrainian forces launched a drone attack overnight on southern Russia, setting an oil refinery ablaze in the Astrakhan region.
Regional governor Igor Babushkin confirmed that refinery staff were evacuated before the attack, but one person was wounded and is now hospitalized.
Meanwhile, Moscow responded with a massive drone assault, firing nearly 200 drones at Ukraine. Ukraine’s air defence shot down 90, including Shahed-type drones. In Odesa, power outages affected 500 residents, and one person was injured. Several buildings, including a preschool, were damaged.
This surge in strikes comes as Ukraine condemns Russia’s refusal to accept a US-backed 30-day ceasefire proposal without conditions.
