On sports news,

Manchester United is set to part ways with manager Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup final against Manchester City, regardless of the outcome at Wembley. The Guardian reports that the club has decided to take this step following a disappointing season.

This season, Manchester United finished a dismal eighth in the Premier League, their worst finish since 1990, and were eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage.

Speculation about Ten Hag’s future has been intense, especially after British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe acquired a minority stake in the club and took control of football operations. However, the club insists no final decision has been made and a full review will occur after the final against the Premier League champions.

Potential successors for Ten Hag include Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, England manager Gareth Southgate, and Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna, a former United coach.

United goalkeeper Andre Onana, speaking before the report, said the final is a chance for redemption after an injury-hit season. Onana praised Ten Hag, calling him a “good guy” and a “good coach,” noting the tactical prowess he displayed last season.

Today’s final provides United an opportunity for silverware and a route to Europa League qualification. Onana emphasized the importance of ending the season on a high note with a win against their rivals.
