The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) must allow Cameroonian football chief Samuel Eto’o to contest for a position on its executive committee.

CAF had initially rejected Eto’o’s candidacy, but the former African Player of the Year challenged the decision at CAS, which ruled in his favor. The ruling mandates CAF to include Eto’o in the list of candidates for the election scheduled for March 12, 2025.

Eto’o, who has led the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) since 2021, is reportedly aiming for a CAF vice-presidency. His ongoing conflict with Cameroon’s sports ministry adds another layer of intrigue to the situation.
