Report has it that Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi’s helicopter has suffered a “hard landing” in a rural forest area.

According to Iranian state media, Raisi was traveling with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, and other officials and bodyguards. The incident occurred near Jolfa, a city on the border with Azerbaijan, some 600 kilometers northwest of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

According to report, the helicopter was forced to make a hard landing due to bad weather and fog, and various rescue teams are on their way to the region. However, the rescue efforts have been hampered by poor weather conditions, including heavy rain and fog.

The Iranian Interior Minister, Ahmad Vahidi, has confirmed that the helicopter suffered a hard landing and that rescue teams are working to reach the site. He urged the public to pray for Raisi and the others on board.

This incident comes at a sensitive time for Iran, as the country has been facing years of mass protests against its Shiite theocracy over an ailing economy and women’s rights. Additionally, Iran has been involved in an unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel just last month and has enriched uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels.
