Scores of students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Ondo State, on Friday, staged a protest against the non-provision of basic amenities on the campus.

The protesters, who blocked the main gate of the college as well as the Ondo-Ore Expressway, alleged that the management of the institution was insensitive to their plight. For several hours, there was a traffic logjam on the busy expressway while the protest lasted.

According to them, the management failed to provide water and electricity for them, in spite of the exorbitant levy they were paying.

The students took out their empty buckets to show their grievances and were singing various solidarity songs.

One of the protesters, who simply identified himself as Sola said the management had failed in its responsibility, declaring that the protest would continue until the school did the needful.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mrs Seto Olatuyi, said the management would attend to the demands of the students.
