Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said his government is probing the alleged high-handedness of some members of the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun.
The governor, who disclosed this on Friday via his official Twitter account, noted that his administration will not sit back and watch security operatives harass members of the public.
While promising to address the issue, Makinde restated his government’s commitment to protecting the lives and properties of the people of the state.
He further urged the citizenry to remain calm and allow members of the corps to perform their legally authorised duties for the people’s well-being, promising to promptly deal with any corps members abusing their office.
This comes after recent misgivings by members of the corps in Tapa, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state.
