Police Arrest Teenager Who Kidnapped, Killed Neighbour’s 11-yr-old Son In Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi, who kidnapped and killed his neighbour’s 11-year son in Gujba LGA of the state.

The teenager was among suspects paraded at command headquarters in Damaturu on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Yobe State Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Garba, disclosed this while briefing newsmen, said 31 armed robberies, 12 kidnappings, 55 homicides, as well as 115 theft offences were recorded in the first quota of 2024.

CP Garba intimated that the teenager, Abdullahi, kidnapped the minor and demanded N600,000 ransom from the boy’s family before killing him with hard drugs, then, buried the corpse.

The CP said, “Mohammed Abdullahi, a 19-year-old suspect from Buniyadi, abducted an 11-year-old son of his neighbour and later demanded a ransom of 600,000 naira”.

“When the parents of the victim could not meet his demand, he bought drugs and administered them to the victim to sleep and the victim later died.

“The suspect later buried the corpse in their house while his parents were away and was later apprehended by the police.”
