The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered two stolen vehicles and a pump-action gun. This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement issued today in Awka.
The suspects, Monday Onoja, Sanusi Muhammed, and Kenneth Nwokpu, aged between 27 and 32, were apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad at Agukwu-Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area on May 30. Their arrest followed intelligence gathered from a previously detained robbery suspect.
Recovered items include a white Mercedes Benz C300 with registration number KWC 140, an ash-coloured Lexus 350 with plate number 669 CY, two exotic mobile phones, and a pump-action firearm.
Ikenga noted that investigations are ongoing to capture other gang members still at large. He also urged the public to assist with credible information to help the police curb crime across the state.
