The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has deployed tactical units to hunt down the gunmen who attacked and killed four police officers and a civilian.
The attack occurred during a routine patrol on yesterday, at Irete along the Owerri-Onitsha express road.
A civilian was also injured and is receiving treatment. Danjuma condemned the attack and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He urged the public to provide any information that could assist in apprehending the attackers.
