In Delta State, the Police Command has commenced a search for a student, Micheal Ogbeife for beating a teacher to death.
Micheal is a Senior Secondary 3 student of Erhimu Secondary School, Abraka in Delta State.
It was reported that Micheal on the 5th of December engaged the teacher in a fight that resulted in the teacher’s death. The report has it that the teacher, who was in charge of Agricultural Science and biology in the school had flogged Micheal’s younger sister who was involved in a dispute with her classmate. It was said that the infuriated Micheal had accosted the teacher who collapsed after some punches from the student.
The teacher who was rushed to a hospital in the community was confirmed dead on arrival.
Reacting to the incident, the proprietor of the school said he was awaiting the full details of the matter as he was not on ground when the incident happened.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Bright Edafe said the suspect was at large but his sister has been in protective custody while efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.
