Police rescues kidnapped man, kills two suspected bandits in Zamfara

Mr. Abdullahi Naibi of Yardadi village in Bakura Local Government Area of the state has been rescued from his kidnappers by Zamfara police.
They also found an empty magazine for an AK-47 weapon.

The state’s commissioner of police, Mr. Muhammed Bunu, at a news conference in Gusau on Tuesday said that Naibi had been transferred to the General Hospital at Talata Mafara for treatment.

According to him, on May 3, a team of police officers conducting surveillance along Gusau-Tsafe Road apprehended criminals on three motorcycles, each carrying three people.

Engaging the cops in a one-hour long gunfight, Police neutralized two of the robbers and found an AK-47 rifle and a pump gun.
The police commissioner appealed for all stakeholders’ continuous support, cooperation and collaboration to rid the state of criminal elements.
