The opening ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games will be held in Paris on July 26, featuring 205 delegations parading on over 80 boats along the Seine River.
Pope Francis urged athletes to be messengers of peace and role models for the youth, while also calling for prayers for ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Myanmar, and other war-torn countries. He concluded by reminding everyone that war is a defeat.
