In Kaduna, a section of the Kaduna residence of the popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi was ravaged by fire. Though the cause of the fire was not ascertained by the time of filing this report, a source who preferred anonymity reported that the fire began at the section of the Islamiya School.
The source said that immediately they saw smoke coming out from one of the classes, they raised an alarm which caused people around to fetch water which was used to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings before the arrival of the fire servicemen.
On his social media page, Gumi while thanking God that the fire was controlled and there were no casualties, said that education will continue for the students whose accommodation was burnt as they will look for an alternative place for them.
Sheikh Gumi is the current Explainer of the Holy Quran at the Kaduna Central Mosque, Sultan Bello.
