The Christian Association of Nigeria has called on Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to rise up and cry for the mercy of God to preserve us and bring an end to challenges bedevilling the nation.

In a New Year message on Friday, signed by CAN President Samson Ayokunle, he noted that with the government seemingly out of their depths in controlling the current insecurity and the 2023 elections getting closer, the mercy of God was needed to intervene divinely and miraculously.

Thanking God for his protection in 2021, he called on denominational and church leaders to use the opportunity of the New Year Fasting and Prayers programme of churches to rescue Nigeria from those who are hell-bent on destroying it by deliberately praying for the mercy of God over our unfortunate situation.
He also prayed that 2022 be the year of total deliverance from all manners of insecurity challenges in the Nigeria.
