The Nigeria Police Force has repatriated a notorious Chinese fugitive, Mr. Dai Qisheng, to Beijing after his arrest in Abuja.
Qisheng, wanted in Guizhou Province for violent organised crimes, fled China in 2024 following a warrant by the Public Security Bureau of Zhijin County.
He was tracked and apprehended in the Federal Capital Territory on August 8, 2025, by operatives of INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau in Abuja.
Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed that Qisheng was extradited to China on August 15 under police-to-police cooperation.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, hailed the successful operation as proof that Nigeria will not be a safe haven for international fugitives.
