Remains of Iniobong Umoren buried in her hometown

The remains of Iniobong Umoren, a 26-year-old graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo, who was murdered while seeking employment in Uyo, Akwa Ibom was on Friday, buried in her hometown, Nung Ita in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
With her family, relatives and friends paying their last respect.

Ms Umoren was reported to have been physically and sexually assaulted, before being killed by a certain, Akpan Uduak – who is currently in police custody.
According to reports and a confession from the suspect, Mr Akpan had invited Ms Umoren for a job interview at Airport Road, Ibiaku junction on April 29 where he apparently carried out the atrocities.
Her corpse was found 48 hours after she went missing, after her friend, Uduak Umoh raised alarm

The police have described the attacker, Mr Akpan as a “confessed serial rapist” and he is currently awaiting trail, even as investigations continue.
