Remains of Late Mrs Theresa Eziamaka Nwankwo-orji (Nee Ogalanya) Committed to Mother Earth at her Village in Ụmụawụlụ

The remains of Late Mrs Theresa Eziamaka Nwankwo-orji ( Nee Ogalanya) was yesterday, January 4, 2022 committed to Mother Earth at her compound in Umuchukwu Village, Umuenu Quarter, Ụmụawụlụ in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. She died at the age of 82.

In his speech during the burial mass, the Catholic priest of St. Joseph’s Church, Ụmụawụlụ, Fr. Benjamin Odika urged Christians to get prepared because death is inevitable, a debt everyone must pay and no one knows when it will come. The priest emphasized that the most important thing is for someone to die in Christ because it is how far but how well.

Describing the deceased as an epitome of love and a cheerful giver during her lifetime, the Reverend Father expressed his condolences to mama’s family and urged them to follow the good steps their mother left behind.

In a tribute, mama’s son, Chief Jude Nwankwo ( Ochendo Ụmụawụlụ) described his mum as a philanthropist, a counselor, a cheerful giver, a godly woman and an encouragement to everyone around her.

Ochendo Ụmụawụlụ promised to uphold all the virtues she left behind, especially being united with her siblings as that was the wish and desire of his late mum. Thanking God for a life well spent, he prayed that the legacy she left behind will never be in vain.

High Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Nwankwo (Ojiefiemeogo), a very good friend of the family while speaking, expressed that the deceased has lent some color to history and left her giant footprints on the sand of Ụmụawụlụ land.

The event was graced by some Government officials, friends from far and near, relatives, well wishers, catholic faithfuls, Rev. Fathers, Reverend Sisters, traditional rulers and others who came to pay their last respects to the deceased.

Among some dignitaries are the traditional rulers of Ụmụawụlụ and Mbaukwu HRM Igwe Joel Maduadichie Egwuonwu, HRM Igwe Peter Nwokike Anugwu, HRM igwe Godwin Ezeilo (Obu Nanka) among other traditional rulers. Commissioner for trade and commerce; Hon. Uchenna Okafor (Wiper), Senator Dr. Sir Victor Umeh, Hon. Dr. Mrs Ify Madukasi (MD TRACAS), Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, among others.
