Resumption of schools in Anambra has been postponed.
Governor Willie Obiano made this known in a Covid-19 broadcast yesterday in Awka.
He said that schools in Anambra have been given extra two weeks from yesterday to revive the Covid-19 structure and practices that helped protect children during the first wave of the pandemic. The postponement is also to allow principals and teachers prepare for the return of the children.
Gov Obiano also commended school proprietors and administrations in the state for their careful handling of the first wave of the pandemic.
In the same vein, churches and religious organizations have been advised to set up Action teams and go back to practices that helped the state in the first phase of the pandemic.
Markets in Anambra state have also been tasked to ensure full compliance to the standard Covid-19 protocols. To that effect also, market leaders have been given one week to set up the necessary safety standards and ensure proper compliance and after that, any market found violating the standards after one week shall be quickly shut down.
Governor Obiano assured Ndi Anambra that the government will do everything possible to handle the resurgence . He maintained that all necessary requirements have been put in place and the state will align with any policy laid out by the federal government to ensure effective compliance
