This was contained in a statement by community health and agricultural experts, Engr. Ikenna Ezeani and Pst. Samuel Okpezuna, during an interactive session with reporters at Kpakpando Radio Station.

The agricultural experts spoke on the health benefits of pears and their economic values. They enjoined Nigerians to improve their healthy lifestyles by eating more fruits to fight diseases and ultimately deaths.

The duo also advised Nigerians to enjoy the seven powerful health benefits of pears which include their ability to aid in weight loss, improve digestion, boost heart health, help regulate blood pressure among others.

Engr Ezeani and Pst Okpezuna also warned on the rising cases of high blood pressure and diabetes, insisting that the trend can be controlled through sensitization of the population on healthy eating and living.

They called on the government and other well meaning Nigerians to invest more in agriculture as a way of boosting the health and economic wellbeing of the nation.
