Hundreds of youths from Omagwa, Rivers State, took to the streets Sunday, blocking the Port Harcourt-Owerri Road to protest the alleged killing of Bright Egbule, a father of six, by a policeman.

Eyewitnesses claim officers stormed Egbule’s compound, accusing him of being a drug dealer before fatally shooting him. The protest caused a major gridlock until Ikwerre LGA Chairman, Israel Agbosi, intervened, promising justice.

Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the officer’s arrest and assured that investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, the victim’s remains have been deposited at the morgue as calm gradually returns to the area.
