Road Traffic Crash Opposite FRSC Unit Command Nteje Along Awka-Ontsha Expressway Claims One Life

One life was reported lost following fatal road traffic crash which occurred on Saturday, 20th July, 2024, opposite FRSC Command Nteje by Nteje-Awka-Onitsha Expressway.

A statement issued by the Ag Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Roads Safety Corps FRSC, RC Margaret B Onabe, informed that the incident occurred at 09:30 in the morning. 

The statement said, “A driver identified as Chiweuba Evaristus Chidiebere with a private Toyota Camry with Registration Number: ABJ125JV, and unidentified driver of a private Ford Explorer with registration number: ZBL626RL were involved in the fatal crash.

She said that the probable cause of the fatal road traffic crash was loss of control.

“According to eyewitness, the driver of the Camry lost control and crossed to the Ford Explorer lane on a single carriage way and crashed.

“Three male adults were involved in the crash.
1 male adult was killed.
2 male adults rescued unhurt.

“FRSC rescue team from RS5.3 Nteje, rushed the victim to Chira Hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor and his corpse deposited at New Jerusalem mortuary Nteje.

“The team managed traffic and ensured obstruction caused by crash was cleared.

The FRSC Sector Commander, Anambra State, Adeoye Irelewuyi, commiserated with the family of the dead victim, and urged motorist to be observant with their environment and always pay full concentration to driving.
