Motorists plying the second Niger bridge from Asaba to Onitsha have expressed relief and excitement at passing through without any hitches, especially as it has helped decongest the first Niger bridge.

It was however not a happy experience for the traders who used the gridlock to make huge sales as the free passage is not allowing them to make sales.

Recall that the federal Government opened the bridge for temporary use for vehicles coming from the West to The South-East through Asaba from December 15, 2022, to January 15, 2023.

Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works said the temporary opening of the second Niger Bridge was to decongest traffic during the yuletide.
