The suspension of HRH Igwe Damian Ezeani, the traditional ruler of Neni community, has triggered a response from Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the representative of Anambra South senatorial zone.
Senator Ubah, who recently received the title of Odenjinji of Neni during the yuletide, responded to the suspension in an exclusive phone interview with THE RAZOR. He expressed the view that the governor, Soludo, was engaging in political maneuvers and that the suspension was a result of frustration over his growing political influence.
Ubah stated that the entire game is all about politics. He said that he is not the only person to receive a chieftaincy title, stating that the former chief of Army Staff, Buratai, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and even Mr. President were honored while wondering why his own is different.
Senator Ubah defected from Young Progressives Party (YPP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) in October 2023, aiming to challenge Soludo in the 2025 governorship election, a move which has has stirred emotions within the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the state government.
Anambra, a state with off-season elections, is scheduled for a governorship election towards the end of 2025, making these political developments crucial in shaping the state’s future political landscape.
