Senator Orji Kalu Moves To Buy Arsenal FC, Stakes 35%

ANALYSIS: Orji Kalu: From Governor to Senator to Prisoner

Former governor of Abia state and present Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzo Kalu has indicated interest in investing in Premier League Club, Arsenal FC.

Senator Orji Uzo Kalu took to his Facebook page to make his intention known.

He said that his success with Enyimba Football Club between 2000 to 2007 has intensified his passion for football. Referring to himself as a pillar of sports in Africa, he said that he is considering buying 35% stake in Arsenal FC. He said his target is to lift the Champions League and Premier League back to back as they did with Enyimba.

It will be recalled that during his tenure as governor of Abia , Enyima FC as the professional league of the state was the number one football club in the country. Enyimba was also the first Nigerian club to win the CAF in 2003 and 2004.

The Senator hopes to replicate the same achievements with Arsenal, if given the opportunity.
