
The immediate Past President General of the Community Town Union, Sir Godwin Ozoemena Onyiluka has given his account of stewardship for the three years in office as the Constitutionally elected president General for community. The meeting took place on Monday December 28th in Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area of Anambra.
The Mbaukwu annual general meeting, which according to the constitution of the community, is the largest law making body of the town, held at the community ongoing civic Center at Umuezillo, old ovollo Village Mbaukwu. The President General, in his speech, thanked all the Community patriot for their partnership and support they availed his government and executive, which he noted contributed immensely to all he achieved in office in the areas of infrastructure, education and sports.
Kpakpando gathered that a court order was obtained by a section of the community stopping the election of 29th December, that is to produce the next executive that would replace the just concluded government.
An indigene of the community who gave his name as Mr. Onyebuchi Okafor had asked the President General if the election will still hold as planned and in reply, the President General said he has not been served with any court order as at time of filing this report maintaining the election must hold as stipulated in the the community’s constitution.
The reported 3 page court order as seen on different social media platforms were also pasted at strategic places on walls of the community civic center.
In an attempt not to create a vacuum in the leadership of Mbaukwu Progressive Union, an election should hold and if that did not happen, an indigene of the community who spoke to Kpakpando under the condition of anonymity noted that a Caretaker government is looming, which according to him when constituted, will address the grievances surrounding the politics of 12 Village upgrade during the administration of Mazi Omife I Omife several years ago and further Villages creation to 28 Villages.
