1) Agulu People’s Union Nigeria, held it’s National Conference on 30th December, 2020 and duly elected it’s National guard officers peacefully and without rancour.
Whereas the national officers so elected were sworn in on that faithful day,
The National Executive Council of Agulu People’s Union Nigeria, met on 7th January, 2020, at Agulu Town Hall and resolve as follows:
To rally round the duly elected national officers of the Union and give them maximum support to perform their duties, and to reject any purported caretaker committee being imposed on the town union.
And Agulu people’s union Nig is duly registered with Nigerian Government through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a corporate body and has been performing its legitimate duties under the law and has elected it’s national officers devoid of any form of violence, rancor or disharmony in the conduct of the office of election that produced its national officers.
And that the details of the conduct of the election held peacefully on 30th December 2020, were duly summited to the office of the Executive Governor of Anambra state and the Commissioner for local Government and Community Affairs.
That prior to the election of 30th December 2020, one Chief Ben Obi ( mbuze) and Honourable Azubuike Okoye were brandishing/ parading list of members of caretaker committee to be imposed on Agulu community in connivance with some officails of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs for their selfish interest without any just cause.
The Union condemns in its entirety, the unpatriotic acts of these individuals.
The Union also resolves that in view of the cordial relationship between Agulu People’s Union Nigeria, and Anambra state Government under the leadership of Chief Sir Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike) to send a high powered delegation of Agulu indigenes to the executive Governor of Anambra state and intimate him on the rumoured caretaker committee that is capable of derailing the existing peace in Agulu and the cordial relationship between the Anambra state Government and the good people of Agulu.
Agulu People’s Union Nig, and her citizens are solidly behind the administration of the executive Governor of Anambra state, Chief Sir. Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike) and the leadership of the newly elected national officers of Agulu People’s Union Nig, and thus, will not allow some individuals to mislead Government and set Agulu community backwards.
