On Tuesday, University of Jos (UNIJOS) students staged a protest against the increase in tuition fees and various services provided by the university.
The entrance to the institution was blockaded by the students, with the Students’ Union Government (SUG) taking the lead in demanding that the university administration roll back the fee hike.
In a demonstration marked by the display of placards bearing diverse messages that conveyed their demands, the students are urgently calling for a reversal of the fee increase, citing the current economic difficulties faced by the nation.
The university’s tuition fees and additional charges were raised from N40,000 to N160,000 per academic session.
