Suspected kidnappers on Tuesday night reportedly invaded Maraban Rido Community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Sources said that the kidnappers abducted children of a female police officer, a Civil Defence Officer and several other residents of the area
A resident of Maraban Rido, Mr. Donatus Yohanna who narrated the incident to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday, said, the police officer had gone to work on night duty when the bandits arrived, picked her three children and went to another apartment, kidnapped an NSCDC officer, with his family, alongside other residents of the area.
”The kidnappers arrived exactly at 11:pm on Tuesday night shooting sporadically. They searched houses and took away whoever they saw. They went to a woman police officer’s house.
He said: “They only took her three children, as the woman was on night duty. They again went to another house, where a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence officer stays. They took him, his wife, and his daughter. They later went to other neighbours’ houses, and kidnapped several of them.”
However, Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, is yet to confirm the report.
