Kogi state has been declared a high risk state for refusing to acknowledge the existence of Covid-19 virus.

The National Incident Manager of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Mukhtar Muhammad made this known on Monday during the Covid-19 briefing .

The PTF said that the Kogi Government had failed to report testing, lacked isolation centers and warned Nigerians to be wary of visiting the state.

Dr Muhammad also mentioned that there are states that have no data on Covid-19 because there’s no testing going on in those states , which makes it difficult to know the level of the pandemic in such states.

He listed some of such states as Yobe, Jigawa, Zamfara and Kebbi and Kogi . He stated that such states that are not testing are at higher risk than the states that are currently known as high burdened states.

He cautioned Nigerians to avoid visiting such high risk states , especially Kogi, as they have no testing facility and no isolation center for sick ones.
